At a time of unprecedented geopolitical threats – and dramatically heightened tension between peoples – it is vital that the Jewish community build and strengthen bridges. To address this task, in 2007 B'nai B'rith established an Office of Intercommunal Affairs as part of its Center for Human Rights and Public Policy.
The charge of the Office of Intercommunal Affairs is to develop partnerships, including advocacy, with a diverse spectrum of faith-based and ethnic groups, as well as other key institutions. The office advances the proud heritage of wide-ranging, and often pioneering, achievements by B'nai B'rith in the area of tolerance. These include landmark coalitions for civil rights to innovative inter-group cultural programs; major humanitarian projects to nonsectarian services for seniors; grassroots dialogue initiatives to global tolerance training; and campaigns for religious liberty to the pursuit of governmental protections against extremism and bigotry.
B'nai B'rith has a practical and diplomatic engagement with leaders and lay people of social and moral influence. This engagement represents B'nai B'rith's pledge to communicate the fundamental values and interests of the Jewish people – as violent hostility against Jews and Israel increases and to improve the lives of all peoples. Join us in this important work.
