Since 2002, B'nai B'rith International, in partnership with the Brothers Brother Foundation, has brought more than $64 million worth of medicines and supplies to Latin America through the Communities in Crisis program.
This program aids the citizens of impoverished communities, suffering from disastrous economic conditions. Thus far, the program has assisted communities in Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela, Peru, and Bolivia. Pharmaceutical companies donate supplies and medicines to Brothers Brother, and B'nai B'rith provides the shipping and logistical fees required to move the items to these countries.
B'nai B'rith members in Latin America act as the conduit to their governments' health ministries or other agencies that approve both the drugs and the import process. B'nai B'rith's involvement guarantees that the medicines and supplies arrive at the clinics and hospitals where needed.
