Volunteer work included stuffing and distributing emergency preparedness kits for the PACE Center and working with SBP on construction at an affordable housing site. B’nai B’rith welcomed the opportunity to continue these partnerships, which we established in the wake of previous natural disasters.
Held in New Orleans from June 22 – June 24, this annual training meeting was created for the on-site building staff of B’nai B’rith Housing Network properties, focusing on issues that impact day-to-day activities of staff and residents in our affordable housing buildings. B’nai B’rith, in partnership with HUD (the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development), is the largest national Jewish sponsor of non-sectarian affordable housing for seniors in the United States.
This was the first in-person meeting since May 2019 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Panelists at the training sessions were from HUD, the Social Security Administration, the New Orleans affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and our own B’nai B’rith staff and other experts in the affordable senior housing industry.
